7 Beauty Lessons that were Learned from Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston epitomizes a kind of cool, California-girl style that's easy on the eyes—and surprisingly easy to pull off. Try these seven Jen-inspired tips, and you'll be looking like a beach babe in no time.

Go nude. When it comes to makeup, Jennifer Aniston is no drama queen. Nude lipsticks and beige and brown eye shadows give her a subtle, natural beauty that never looks all done up.

Stay active. Aniston doesn't always spend hours on a workout, but she does fit in at least 20 minutes of cardio daily—typically running or Spinning. She's also a yoga devotee and says the stretching exercises have improved her posture.

Show off your best assets. Aniston enjoys the fruits of her workout labors, proudly baring her toned arms and legs in strapless minidresses. She knows how to show off the features she's proud of.

Drink a lot of water. She may take three-minute showers to save water, but Aniston never goes thirsty: "I drink 100 ounces of Smartwater every day," she has said; that's the equivalent of 12 ½ glasses.

Glow, but don't shine. Choosing a tinted moisturizer or sheer foundation and going easy on the powder gives Aniston a youthful look. The actress doesn't over-dew it either, avoiding oil-slick shininess.

Don't overstyle. Jennifer Aniston loves to wear her hair down, even on the red carpet. Loose, parted in the center, and with minimal products is about as laid-back as it gets. Even when her hair has clearly been straightened for an event, it's never perfectly sleek.

Pony up. Even her updos aren't fussy. Aniston's "comfort zone" is a swinging ponytail, according to her hairstylist Chris McMillan. And the messier the better: "She always pulls out a few more strands when I'm done," he says.

Tip: Before pulling your hair back, run a flatiron through it so it's all the same texture. And to keep a swingy ponytail from verging into cheerleader territory, position it just above the middle of the head—no higher.
